Soon after, thousands of students from around the world joined the #FridaysforFuture strike, which saw students skip school on Fridays in protest of the effects of climate change. The climate activists around the world joined together to organize the very first Global Strike for Climate. The strike was hugely successful with over 1.6 million people from over 125 countries participated.
